I was really looking forward to this after the amount of TV ad space it seemed to consume. However, once I did get hold of a copy, I've only played it for one sitting. Got bored to be honest. Maybe it's because it was on a console and I normally game on a PC. I think I'm also getting too old to remember all the button actions etc. The first hour of the game seemed to just be 'this button does this, this one that' and after that you just horse around for ages. I know there's always an element of training/induction in these things but it seemed a bit OTT. Maybe I'll get the PC version and give that a go but the game play will be the same I imagine. Maybe I just don't have the patience any more?It does look good though and the production quality is very high. I dunno. I should probably get back to it and give it another go but by now I've forgotten all the bleedin' button actions!The world is so alive. There's something always happening. There's just a story within a story and a story around every corner! This game is 10/10 for me and does so much justice for red dead 1.People who judge this game saying it's boring. Yes I can see that. It is slow. There are mundate laborious actions and you jump from a so called open world to then a linear story approach. In that sense I can understand the bad reviews. But I'm not for the rally of people trying to bring this game down. I find those comments unfair as it isnt a bad game. I'm not saying this game is perfect, damn no game is! But Rockstar have an amazing talent when it comes to writing and telling stories and I always commend them for that. Rockstar take games to a new level of just game play. And the taboo of their games is just violence... I mean yes. XD they are violent. But not crude and cheap.But the story is so rich and I love richness in storytelling. And the fact I can live it? And not just hear and watch it is just a dream come true.Bought this for the other half for christmas... it arrived well before Christmas and when he saw it (it was still in the envelope!!) he said he 'had to have it now'! Needless to say he loves the game, he says it has a great story and is the most realistic graphics he has seen in a game. He has been playing it for about a month now and still loads of the game left to go, but he did say he could complete it faster if he wasn't enjoying it so much. My problem now is getting this game of the television on an evening :)I ordered the standard edition with steel book and it came with a printed map and the pre order bonus war horse which was a nice surpriseThis is perhaps the most diverse game ever released to date. I'm quite confident this game could be enjoyed by just about anyone including the casual gamer. Perhaps it would be a little difficult for anyone under the age of 12 though.I have nothing more to say apart from just try it out for yourself! It is unlikely to dissapoint!
